MoonPay is buying again.
The crypto payments company has acquired Glide, a San Francisco-based crypto deposit infrastructure provider, in a move that pushes MoonPay deeper into the plumbing of digital asset payments.
Not the flashy part of crypto. Not token prices. Not another consumer wallet campaign.
This deal is about deposits, routing, swaps, bridges, and the annoying moment when a user wants to fund an app but their assets are sitting somewhere else. Different chain. Different token. Different wallet. Different mess.
That is the problem Glide was built to clean up.
MoonPay Acquires Glide to Strengthen MoonPay Deposits
MoonPay will integrate Glide’s technology into MoonPay Deposits, its API-based funding product for apps and platforms. The idea is fairly direct: let users fund crypto applications from whatever wallet, token, exchange, or card they already use.
No manual bridging. No separate swap step. No forcing users to understand every route their money has to travel.
FinTech Futures reported that Glide’s technology will become part of MoonPay Deposits, which handles swapping, bridging, and cross-chain routing behind the scenes. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
For users, that may sound invisible. For fintech and crypto apps, invisible is often the point. The smoother the deposit process feels, the less likely someone quits before they even start using the product.
Glide Brings Cross-Chain Routing Into MoonPay’s Stack
Glide was founded in 2023 by Tushar Soni and Qinyu Tong, who previously worked on the team behind Robinhood’s crypto wallet. The company built deposit and payment technology that lets apps accept crypto from more than one source instead of forcing users into a narrow funding path.
According to MoonPay, Glide supports more than 100 tokens across over 30 blockchain networks and processes more than $100 million in annual volume. The company’s routing layer chooses between instant relayer and bridge-and-swap routes, depending on speed and cost.
That detail matters.
Crypto payments still have a usability problem. Users may hold funds on one chain while an app needs them on another. They may hold one token while the platform expects a different one. They may understand the end goal, but not the technical steps.
Glide sits in the middle and does the routing work.
The Deal Is Part of MoonPay’s Bigger Buying Spree
This is not an isolated acquisition.
MoonPay has been on a very active M&A run in 2026. The Block reported that the Glide deal marks MoonPay’s sixth acquisition announcement of the year, following deals involving Sodot, Decent, DFlow, Entendre, and Dawn Labs.
That tells a bigger story. MoonPay is no longer acting like a company focused only on simple fiat-to-crypto ramps. It wants more of the full transaction stack.
Onramps. Virtual accounts. Swaps. Deposits. Commerce. Institutional tools. Stablecoin infrastructure.
Piece by piece, MoonPay is trying to own more of the journey between traditional money, crypto wallets, apps, and blockchain networks.
Why Crypto Deposits Matter for Fintech Apps
Deposits are boring until they fail.
A user opens an app. They want to fund it. Their money is somewhere else. The app asks for a specific asset or chain. The user gets confused, delays the transaction, or leaves.
That is not just a crypto problem. It is a fintech conversion problem.
MoonPay said deposits are often a user’s first interaction with a crypto app, and friction at that stage can cost platforms users before onboarding is even finished.
This explains why deposit infrastructure is becoming more valuable. If crypto apps want mainstream users, they cannot expect everyone to understand bridges, gas fees, routing paths, and network compatibility. Someone has to hide the complexity.
MoonPay wants that someone to be MoonPay.
Glide’s Team and Customers Join MoonPay
Glide’s team, technology, and customers are now part of MoonPay. The Block reported that Glide’s four-person team, including both co-founders, will join MoonPay as part of the transaction.
The deal was structured as an all-equity transaction, though the size was not disclosed.
That small team size is interesting. This is not a massive headcount acquisition. MoonPay is buying focused technology, technical talent, and a deposit product that fits neatly into what it already wants to build.
Sometimes those are the deals that matter most. Small team. Specific infrastructure. Clear integration path.
MoonPay Is Moving Beyond Simple Crypto Payments
MoonPay became known for making it easier to buy and sell crypto using traditional payment methods. But the market has changed.
Crypto payments are no longer just about getting money into a wallet. Companies now want infrastructure that can support apps, merchants, institutions, stablecoins, agents, and cross-chain activity.
That requires more than a checkout button.
With Glide, MoonPay gets another layer of deposit infrastructure at a time when stablecoin payments and crypto-native funding flows are becoming more important for fintech and digital infrastructure companies.
The company is clearly betting that the future of digital asset payments will not depend on users doing all the hard work themselves.
What This Means for the Crypto Payments Market
The MoonPay-Glide deal points to a quieter but important trend in fintech: crypto companies are racing to remove the technical steps that make digital assets difficult to use.
That does not mean crypto payments are suddenly mainstream. Far from it.
But the infrastructure is getting cleaner. The user experience is getting less hostile. And companies like MoonPay are trying to control more of the hidden systems behind the transaction.
For fintech apps, that could mean faster onboarding and fewer abandoned deposits.
For MoonPay, it means one more piece of the payments stack now sits inside the company.
The acquisition is not loud. It is not flashy. But in fintech and business strategy, infrastructure deals often age better than headline-grabbing product launches.
