Nuvei received two regulatory approvals in the European Union. The company secured a crypto asset service provider license under the Markets in Crypto Assets framework. Nuvei also obtained a payment institution license. These approvals expand crypto and electronic money token services across several EU markets.

The CASP license allows Nuvei to provide regulated crypto services. These services include digital asset storage, management, transfers, and conversion of crypto assets into traditional money. The license applies across EU member states under a single regulatory framework.

The payment institution license enhances electronic money token capabilities. This approval adds EMT related services to Nuvei’s European product lineup. The combined licenses improve the company’s regional infrastructure.

Nuvei announced that retail users will access simpler crypto services. Business customers will receive tools that support crypto acceptance and settlement. Services include blockchain-based fund movement, integrated with payment, payout, and treasury systems. The company highlighted transparency and operational efficiency.

Nuvei was founded in 2003. Philip Fayer is the founder, chairman, and chief executive. The company provides global payment infrastructure for businesses. Support includes over 150 currencies and more than 720 alternative payment methods.

In January 2025, Nuvei expanded its operations in the Asia Pacific region. The company acquired the Japanese subsidiary of B2B payments provider Paywiser. This acquisition improved regional coverage and cross-border payment capabilities.
