Switzerland-based core banking technology firm Temenos has appointed Takis Spiliopoulos as its new CEO, with the role taking effect immediately.
Spiliopoulos first joined Temenos from Swiss bank Vontobel in March 2019, when he initially assumed the position of chief financial officer. He took over as interim CEO of Temenos in September upon the departure of Jean-Pierre Brulard, who had led the company since May 2024.
“In his role as interim CEO, Takis clearly demonstrated he was the right choice for the CEO role, having brought stability and an execution-focused mindset to the company,” comments Temenos board chair Thibault de Tersant.
In a statement, Temenos adds that the appointment of Spiliopoulos as CEO follows “a thorough and independent search process led by the board of directors, supported by an external executive search firm, that evaluated many strong internal and external candidates”.
With Spiliopoulos taking the top position, a vacancy has opened for someone to guide Temenos’ financial strategy. “The company is launching a search to identify a new chief financial officer and will give further updates in due course”, the statement continues.
