Norwegian bank DNB is preparing to update its domestic payment processing infrastructure through an extended collaboration with long-time technology partner Tietoevry Banking.
The bank will transition from its current RBS infrastructure to Tietoevry’s Payment Initiation (PIN) platform, with migration scheduled to begin in 2026 and complete by the second half of 2027.
According to the vendor, “the decision follows a thorough evaluation and an ambition to simplify DNB’s payment infrastructure”.
The existing RBS infrastructure, operated by Tietoevry, processed more than 370 million payments for the bank in 2024.
DNB, the largest bank in Norway will approximately $380 billion in total assets, first signed for mainframe services with Nordic technology and consulting company EVRY over a decade ago. The company then merged with Finnish technology company Tieto in 2019 for €1.3 billion, including the partnership with DNB, before rebranding as Tietoevry two years later.
The refreshed contract between Tietoevry and DNB will remain valid until 2030, with the option to extend by a further two years.
