Cross-border payments firm iBanFirst has made two new senior appointments, promoting Sonia Azzouzi Boudier to deputy CEO and naming Aurore Gaspar Colson as non-executive director.
iBanFirst was founded by CEO Pierre-Antoine Dusoulier in 2016 and operates a platform for small and medium-sized multinationals (SMMs) to send and receive money internationally in different currencies.
Headquartered in Brussels, Belgium, the company secured an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) licence from the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in March this year.
Boudier first joined iBanFirst in February 2022 as chief of tech and strategy officer and helped develop the company’s Global Account offering through the role. Prior to iBanFirst, she spent seven years working at Société Générale, eventually rising to chief of staff to then-CEO Frédéric Oudéa.
iBanFirst says that as deputy CEO, Boudier will lead the company’s geographical expansion and also take charge of “the group’s growth in terms of its value proposition”.
Like Boudier, Colson also brings experience from Société Générale, having spent over two decades working in key positions across general inspection, risk management, retail banking, and digital transformation at the bank.
iBanFirst says Colson will leverage this experience to offer an “independent perspective” and will play “an active role in defining iBanFirst’s strategic direction and reinforcing its growth model”.
Colson has gained comprehensive board experience through Société Générale, previously serving as chairman of PayXpert (acquired in 2022) and as board member of Shine (sold to Ageras last year), Societe Generale Assurances, and BRD, the bank’s Romanian division.
