Irish fintech company Fenergo has appointed banking technology veteran Hishaam Caramanli as president and chief operating officer (COO), effective immediately.
Reporting directly to CEO Marc Murphy, Caramanli will oversee product and engineering, customer delivery, and client support operations.
Caramanli’s career spans more than 30 years in financial technology and operations. He joined Morgan Stanley in 1991 through a graduate programme and advanced through various roles across New York, Hong Kong, and Tokyo. During his 17-year tenure at the company, he founded its fixed income e-business in 1998 and later served as European CIO for sales and trading.
Following his departure from Morgan Stanley in 2010, Caramanli spent over a decade as global head of UBS’ digital client platform Neo. Most recently, he served as group chief product officer at ION Markets.
Fenergo develops Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions designed to streamline client lifecycle management and regulatory compliance for financial institutions. The Dublin-based company’s client base includes major banks such as Citi, Proven Bank, and NIBC, providing services ranging from client onboarding and KYC technology to transaction monitoring.
Caramanli’s appointment comes as Fenergo continues expanding its leadership team to boost its product development. In October, the company hired Sharon Bodkin as VP of banking product, Neil D’Rosario as VP of buyside product, and Adam McLaughlin as director of financial crime product.
