Smartstream, a London-based data solutions provider, has appointed former Talend VP Thomas Steinborn as its chief product officer (CPO), effective immediately.
Steinborn will report directly to CEO Akber Jaffer and oversee the company’s product strategy development and roadmap delivery while managing cross-functional team coordination.
The new CPO brings nearly 30 years of industry expertise to the role. His career includes more than a decade at Progress Software, almost seven years leading product management at Talend, and a stint as CPO at HR technology company Infoniqa. Before joining SmartStream, Steinborn held the position of SVP of products at DataOps.live, where he concentrated on developing data solutions for software developers.
Smartstream delivers a range of managed and professional services to organisations across banking, capital markets, investment management, and fintech. The company’s product portfolio encompasses collateral management, cash and liquidity management, reconciliations, and exceptions management solutions.
Founded over four decades ago, SmartStream operates from 23 offices worldwide with a workforce of over 1,100 employees, and processes more than one billion Software-as-a-Service transactions each month.
Alongside Steinborn’s appointment, Smartream has also bolstered its C-suite with Jane Christopher joining as chief human resources officer and James Hollands, former DTCC managing director of sales, taking on the chief revenue officer role in June 2024.
