UK wealthtech company WealthOS has named John Herlihy, a former Google and LinkedIn executive, as its first chairman.

Starting his career as a chartered accountant for KPMG in 1988, Herlihy went on to lead financial teams for Adobe, Oracle, and First Data, where he served as chief operating officer. In 2005, he joined Google and spent a decade scaling the company’s EMEA operations. He later joined LinkedIn, where his responsibilities expanded to cover both the EMEA and Latin America regions.

Herlihy currently serves on multiple boards as a non-executive director for companies including OpenAI Ireland, STATSports, asset management firm Carne, and US advisory and investing platform Consello.

As chairman of WealthOS, Herlihy will collaborate with founders Anton Padmasiri (CEO) and Chamat Arambewela (COO) to help scale the company. Herlihy was an angel investor in WealthOS’s £565,000 seed funding round in 2021.

“John is one of the rare executives who truly understands company scaling,” states Padmasiri. “He knows the critical breakpoints as companies grow and how to navigate them gracefully.”

Established in 2019, WealthOS is a cloud-native core wealth management Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) provider. Last year, the company secured a contract with Quai Digital, a provider of white-labelled digital savings solutions, to become the firm’s new strategic technology partner.
