Cuzdan has launched its payment orchestration platform in Azerbaijan powered by infrastructure provided by Saudi fintech PayTabs Group.
The payment and e-money services platform provides processing tools for merchants and supports various payment methods for customers making purchases.
“Through the new platform, merchants in Azerbaijan can onboard quickly, accept payments securely, and offer customers more choice in how they pay,” the company says.
Through its partnership with PayTabs, the platform also features embedded AI functionality across onboarding, transaction monitoring, processing, and reporting capabilities.
Cuzdan, which secured an e-payment institution licence with Azerbaijan’s central bank in September 2024, is the brainchild of CEO Mustafa Baltaci. Baltaci is a former deputy CEO of Borsa Istanbul and also founded KOOP Ventures in 2017 and embedded cryptocurrency trading platform Primex in Latvia in 2023.
Baltaci says the partnership with PayTabs will enable the company to serve “the full spectrum of our economy – from neighbourhood shopkeepers to growing SMEs to major enterprises” with payment solutions “that drive growth and financial inclusion nationwide”.
PayTabs, headquartered in Riyadh, also provides infrastructure for buy now, pay later (BNPL) unicorns Tabby and Tamara in Saudi Arabia, and Ollin, a lifestyle financing platform in Egypt.
