Dan Chang has been appointed as general counsel and chief compliance officer by Tennessee’s Thread Bancorp. The former Avant director succeeds Kelly Caltabiano, who had headed compliance at the bank for over three years before departing for Pathward in June.
In a statement, Thread says its latest hire will “serve as the key legal and compliance advisor to the executive team and board”, managing all legal affairs while overseeing the bank’s partnerships and compliance framework.
This appointment of a new compliance chief comes amid an ongoing effort by Thread to expand its suite of embedded banking solutions globally, a strategy which notably led to a partnership with Fiserv for the Finxact core banking platform in August.
Chang is already familiar with the remit of CCO, having served the position for banking infrastructure company Cross River, student lender Meritize, and most recently, for loan refinance marketplace Splash Financial.
Other recent hires made by Thread include Marty Miracle, who moved from Sutton Bank in Ohio to take on the position of chief digital officer last month.
