Handelsbanken Fonder partners Denodo to power digital savings services

Handelsbanken - FinTech News

Handelsbanken Fonder, the fund management subsidiary of Swedish bank Handelsbanken, has selected TPG-backed data management platform Denodo to enhance its digital savings offering.

The Denodo platform uses data virtualisation to integrate structured and unstructured data from multiple sources without physical replication. This technology creates a unified semantic layer designed to reduce storage requirements, and maintain data lineage across the enterprise architecture.

According to a joint statement, the implementation of the Denodo platform will help Handelsbanken Fonder to “streamline its data management and accelerate the development of new digital savings services” by unifying data from various sources, including market data, fund and insurance systems, and external real-time APIs.

Operational since 1991, Handelsbanken Fonder manages over 100 funds across equity, fixed income, and allocation categories, with approximately SEK 900 billion ($96.4 billion) in assets under management, divided between mutual funds and alternative investment funds.

In comments, Roger Ehrnstlin, head of development IT asset management at Handelsbanken, says the partnership will “enhance our capacity to deliver innovative solutions for asset management services”, and “provide customers with modern savings services while increasing both flexibility and security”.
