Brulard, a former executive vice president of VMware, has led Temenos since 1 May 2024. The Temenos board of directors has now named the company’s CFO, Takis Spiliopoulos, as interim CEO while it searches for a permanent successor. Spiliopoulos has served as CFO of Temenos for the past six years.
Temenos says it is currently working with an undisclosed executive search firm to source its new permanent CEO.
Discussing the announcement on a webcast on Thursday, board chair Thibault de Tersant said: “After careful consideration, the board determined that this is now the right time to move forward with new leadership to execute the next phase of our strategy plan with a CEO dedicated to the long term, and with deep expertise in our field of operation.”
“We are not aggressively against Jean-Pierre, but we have determined that today, there is a need of very clear leadership for Temenos that Takis and then a permanent CEO can provide,” de Tersant said.
“Jean-Pierre made a few good hires, I think these hires are working well as a team with the current executive team, and for that reason, we are not expecting a big turmoil in the staffing and particularly in the executive team,” de Tersant added.
Some of the hires made under Brulard’s leadership include Barb Morgan as new chief product and technology officer in October, alongside Morgan Stanley veteran Rohit Chauhan, who was appointed as chief technology officer in May.
Speaking on his departure, Brulard said: “I am proud of everything achieved since I joined, much was accomplished during the 16 months of my tenure.”
“I would like to thank everyone at Temenos, its customers and partners for their confidence. I wish all the best to the company,” he added.
