Former FNZ chief Sebastian Henrichs joins Flanks as COO

Flanks - FinTech News

Wealth management technology provider Flanks has appointed former FNZ chief Sebastian Henrichs as its new chief operating officer (COO) to lead international expansion efforts.

The new COO succeeds David Sanz Martínez, who departed Flanks in February following nearly two years as head of operations. Henrichs’ prior experience includes Fondsdepot Bank, where he first worked as finance director, CFO and then CEO. Fondsdepot Bank was ultimately acquired by FNZ Group in January 2023, leading Henrichs to assume the top position at FNZ Germany.

Flanks, which specialises in data aggregation services for wealth management professionals, states in a LinkedIn post that the new hire marks “the beginning of our expansion into the DACH region”.

The company, which is headquartered in Barcelona, Spain, and through its website claims to service over 100 clients “spread worldwide”, has tasked Henrichs with leading its international growth strategy and operations, with a specific focus on Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the UK.

To enable this expansion, Flanks secured €14 million in an equity funding round closed in February this year. The round was led by Motive Ventures, supported by Battery Ventures, Earlybird Venture Capital, JME Ventures, and 4Founders Capital, with funds specifically allocated towards a European expansion. Prior to this, the company raised $8 million in a Series A round led by Earlybird Venture Capital in 2023.
