Ecolytiq partner Visa has also become an investor and strategic partner of Clarity AI as part of the acquisition.
Sustainable tech company Clarity AI has acquired climate engagement solutions start-up Ecolytiq for an undisclosed sum.
Ecolytiq was founded by Mirko Kämpf, Freidrich Hubel, and David Lais in 2020. The certified B Corporation, based in Berlin, Germany, enables financial institutions to embed carbon tracking and climate insights into consumer and business banking apps to help users understand their environmental impact and how they can reduce their carbon footprint.
This integration includes transactional analysis, access to carbon credits and green loans, and environmental forecasting capabilities. Current Ecolytiq partners include Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB), Piraeus Bank, HSBC, Tatra Banka, and Mashreq.
Ecolytiq is also a long-standing partner of Visa. Clarity AI says that as part of the acquisition, Visa has now also become “an investor and strategic partner of Clarity AI”.
Clarity AI will add Ecolytiq’s offering to its sustainability and compliance suite, which consists of solutions for climate scenario analysis, data insights, ESG risk governance, and regulatory reporting.
“This acquisition is more than a strategic move; it’s a declaration of intent,” comments Rebeca Minguela, founder and CEO of Clarity AI. “Ecolytiq’s platform aligns perfectly with our mission to embed sustainability intelligence into every decision—from multi-billion-dollar portfolios to everyday purchases.”
