Garanti BBVA International upgrades to latest Temenos core banking system with Maveric Systems

Amsterdam-headquartered Garanti BBVA International (GBI) is working with technology solutions provider Maveric Systems to upgrade its Temenos core banking system.

GBI is the full-service subsidiary of BBVA-owned Turkish bank Garanti BBVA. The bank specialises in trade and commodity finance and also provides targeted retail and corporate banking services in the Netherlands and Germany.

GBI previously extended its long-standing partnership with Temenos by deploying the vendor’s Temenos Banking Cloud solution in 2022 to support its operational expansion in Europe.

The bank will now work with Maveric Systems to upgrade its existing Temenos T24 core banking system to the latest release of Temenos Transact.

This collaboration will look to “support the bank’s operations in the Netherlands and its business activities in selected markets”, Maveric Systems says.

Sebnem Ipekci, chief IT and operating officer at GBI, adds: “Reimplementing our core platform with the latest release will enable us to use the platform’s inbuilt functionality with limited customisation and launch newer products to markets faster.”

Aside from its Temenos core, GBI also partnered with Worldline last year to enable customers to send and receive instant payments.
