Dubai Islamic Bank selects Finshape DBOS to enhance digital banking CX

Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) in the UAE has partnered with Czech-based technology vendor Finshape to enhance the customer experience of its digital banking services.

Under the agreement, the $95 billion-asset financial institution has adopted Finshape’s Digital Bank Operating System (DBOS), which supports “low-code tools that speed up how new services are built, integrated, and maintained”, according to the vendor’s website.

Platform features include GraphQL and Kafka integrations, a Journey Designer module with pre-built UI and UX kits, and a Digital Integration Hub for real-time access to customer data across different systems.

In a statement on its latest partnership, Finshape says the solution will allow DIB to “streamline operations” and deliver an improved digital experience “across all channels”.

DIB is the largest Islamic bank in the UAE by assets, and currently serves 5 million retail, corporate, and institutional clients. The bank has been running on the HPE GreenLake edge-to-cloud platform since 2023, and currently facilitates payments in cryptocurrency through a collaboration MoU inked with Crytpo.com in December last year.

This digital transformation journey is being led by Musabbah Al Qaizi, chief digital officer at DIB, and is understood to include a long-standing relationship with Pakistan-based technology firm Systems Limited, whose regional subsidiary, Systems MEA, notably inked a partnership deal with Finshape at Gitex Global 2025 in Dubai last week.

The partnership will look to “unlock new opportunities across the GCC region” for both companies, which together will “collaborate on joint initiatives that accelerate digital transformation, co-create customer-centric solutions, and enhance banks’ ability to respond to evolving market and consumer demands”, Finshape says in announcing the agreement.
