Milotich first joined Marqeta as CFO in February 2022, during which time he “played a key role in strengthening the company’s operations and financial foundation”, according to board chair Judson Linville.

In addition to his CFO role, Milotich took on the role of Marqeta CEO on an interim basis in February this year, following the departure of Simon Khalaf, who had succeeded founder Jason Gardner two years prior.

Though his latest appointment comes into effect immediately, Milotich will continue to serve as CFO while the board of directors works to identify his successor. The CFO position was previously held by Tripp Faix, who went on to serve the same role for Mambu, and now, 401(k) provider Human Interest.

Prior to joining Marqeta, Milotich served as senior vice president of corporate finance and investor relations during a decade-long career at Visa. His industry experience also includes various business analysis roles at PayPal and American Express
