Banking technology provider ebankIT has acquired SecuritySide in an effort to bring “enhanced authentication and identity protection” to its digital banking platform, according to a company statement. The terms of the transaction have not been disclosed.
Based in Porto, Portugal, SecuritySide was formed in 2018 as a spinoff of Alten subsidiary ITSector. Key services include TrustFactor, a multi-factor authentication solution, and Mobile Protection Shield (MPS), which is designed to secure mobile apps against security breaches.
Currently serving over 500,000 users across four markets globally, the company also specialises in cloud consulting, DevSecOps consulting, penetration testing and retesting services.
“This acquisition allows us to deliver trust at every level, from the core to the edge, ensuring that our customers remain ahead of threats while accelerating innovation,” comments Renato Oliveira, CEO at ebankIT.
SecuritySide, including its TrustFactor and MPS solutions, will now be integrated into ebankIT’s digital banking platform. The omnichannel platform powers online banking services for banks and credit unions, with features including account management, money transfers, bill payments, and mobile check deposits.
Current clients include Jamaica National Bank, Kuwait International Bank, Metropolitan Commercial Bank and Home Trust Company. The company is developing an AI Transactional Banking Assistant, scheduled to be unveiled at FinovateFall 2025, taking place this week in New York City.
