Thread Bank names Marty Miracle as new chief digital officer

Thread Bank, a Tennessee-based community bank specialising in Banking-as-a-Service (BaaS) solutions, has appointed Marty Miracle as chief digital officer (CDO), effective immediately.

In his new role, Miracle will take responsibility for the bank’s technology strategy, and engineering, infrastructure, and cybersecurity operations. His mandate includes ensuring “system resilience and regulatory readiness, and enabling seamless integrations with banks, middleware providers, and compliance partners”, according to Thread.

Founded in 1906 as Civis Bank, Thread now delivers embedded and digital banking services across the US while maintaining its local community banking presence in Eastern Tennessee. The institution enables businesses to integrate banking functions, such as payment processing, card issuing, lending solutions, and treasury services, directly into their platforms through API technology.

Miracle joins from Ohio’s Sutton Bank, where he served concurrently as chief technology officer, chief information security officer, and chief AI officer since 2019. While at Sutton Bank, Miracle engineered a strategic technological overhaul which included AI integrations and a complete modernisation of the bank’s core systems.

In addition, Miracle’s career includes previous leadership positions in risk management, strategic planning, and technology at the likes of Key Bank, Quicken Loans, and Synovus.
