Finsus acquires Anticipa for SME cash advances in Mexico

 Finsus - FinTech News

Mexico-based banking services provider Finsus has acquired the technology of Anticipa, a fintech platform providing cash advances on merchants’ future flow card sales, for an undisclosed sum.

Finsus says the purchase will be used to launch “fast, transparent access to liquidity solutions” for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Mexico. The product launch will “provide SMEs with financing upwards of $150,000 MXN, secured against their card sales flow and delivered through a fully digital experience”, the company adds. Anticipa has enabled more than $1.3 billion pesos in business advances since being founded in 2019.

The purchase accelerates Finsus’ plans to become what the company calls “the first homegrown, digital neobank” in Mexico, with a suite currently comprising of investment and savings accounts and a wide range of retail and business credit options, including its Llavecredit product for accessing up to 40% liquidity on property.

“This deal isn’t just about acquiring new technology; it’s allowing us to better understand small businesses and their everyday needs,” says Carlos Marmolejo, CEO of Finsus. “In Mexico, millions of businesses make sales every day, but have no way to prove it to a bank in order to access financing. With this acquisition, we’re going to change that.”

The deal builds on Finsus’ previous acquisition of Pulpi in 2024, which has been leveraged to develop payroll advances and credit services for business employees. The company also snapped up the Distrito Pyme platform the same year to further digitise the credit application process, leading to the launch of its Digital SME Credit product.
