Kentucky’s Abound Credit Union migrates to Jack Henry’s Symitar platform

The Symitar implementation is aimed at helping Abound “keep up with members’ needs and attract younger generations”.

Abound Credit Union, serving over 130,000 members across Kentucky, US, has upgraded its core banking system to Jack Henry’s Symitar platform.

The implementation includes Jack Henry’s cloud-native solutions for business banking, lending, financial crime detection, and payments, which aim to help Abound “keep up with members’ needs and attract younger generations”, according to the vendor.

Key components of the upgrade include Jack Henry’s Data Hub for real-time member analytics, alongside the Banno Digital Platform and the Banno Digital Toolkit, which facilitates customisation and third-party integrations.

Founded in 1950, Abound operates 17 branches throughout Central Kentucky, with a suite of financial services including personal, home and auto loans, credit and debit cards, and checking accounts.

With assets exceeding $2.4 billion, the credit union now joins several other financial institutions in adopting Symitar, including New Hampshire’s Triangle Credit Union, Kansas’ Azura Credit Union, and Capital Credit Union in North Dakota.
