Nubank unveils Automated Pix for effortless recurring payments

Nubank, a leading digital banking platform based in Brazil and known for its disruptive financial products and user-first approach, has unveiled a new feature, Automated Pix, designed to simplify how customers manage and pay recurring bills.

The rollout of Automated Pix comes as part of Nubank’s ongoing efforts to increase customer autonomy and convenience.

As more users demand streamlined solutions for managing household and subscription bills, this innovation aims to remove friction from the monthly payment process while enhancing control and security.

Founded to challenge traditional banking models, Nubank offers digital financial services through a mobile-first approach.

It provides a range of products including digital accounts, credit cards, and personal loans, with a strong focus on usability, transparency and customer empowerment.

Automated Pix enables Nubank customers to automatically schedule and manage recurring payments for bills such as water, electricity, internet, school fees, gym memberships, condo fees, and streaming subscriptions using Brazil’s Pix payment system.

The company has also introduced a complementary tool called Search Upcoming Bills, tailored for those who prefer to maintain manual oversight. This feature allows customers to receive alerts and approve monthly payments with just one click through the Nubank app, adding flexibility to their payment preferences.

Security remains a central pillar of Nubank’s Pix features. Automated Pix includes PIN-based confirmations, real-time fraud alerts, transaction controls like Street Mode (Modo Rua), daily Pix limits, and the ability to maintain a trusted contacts list for added safety.

The setup process is intuitive: upon scanning a QR code or entering a Pix key from a billing company, customers will be prompted with the option to automate the payment or enable monthly alerts via Search Upcoming Bills. Payments can be fully automated or manually authorised, and users retain full management over these preferences in the app’s Payment Assistant section.
