U.S. Bank, a leading financial institution based in the United States, and Fiserv, a global FinTech and payments technology provider, have announced a new partnership aimed at enhancing digital card management for financial institutions.
The collaboration brings together U.S. Bank’s Elan Financial Services and Fiserv’s Credit Choice solution to streamline credit and debit card servicing for customers.
The primary goal of the partnership is to integrate Elan’s credit card issuing capabilities into Fiserv’s Credit Choice platform, creating a more unified and user-friendly digital experience.
This will enable financial institutions to offer both debit and credit card information in a single, seamless interface for consumer and small business customers.
Fiserv’s Credit Choice currently serves more than 100 financial institutions with a digital-first, agent-bank credit card programme.
With the addition of Elan’s programme, the upgraded platform will deliver improved servicing and access to tools that simplify the onboarding process. This is expected to help banks and credit unions grow their cardholder base with less friction.
U.S. Bank’s Elan Financial Services is a major agent credit card issuer, providing credit card solutions to financial institutions across the U.S.
Its offerings are designed to help banks expand card programmes without the operational burden. Fiserv, meanwhile, is a global leader in payments and FinTech innovation, delivering technology and services to financial institutions, merchants, and corporations worldwide.
The upgraded Credit Choice solution will offer integrated digital technology, allowing users to manage debit and credit card data in one location.
The rollout is set to accelerate this summer, with a complete conversion of the portfolio expected by the end of 2025. Fiserv will continue to provide support, training, and onboarding for new clients during this time. The fully integrated digital card and expense management features are anticipated to be implemented in the first half of 2026.
The enhanced Credit Choice will be accessible to U.S.-based banks and credit unions through either a new or existing relationship with Fiserv. This will give these institutions access to Elan’s trusted agent-issuing capabilities combined with Fiserv’s robust digital infrastructure.
Fiserv head of Card Services Erik Wichita said, “We’re introducing a new level of digital card integration along with exceptional service and capabilities to the Credit Choice solution. Our clients need self-service customer journeys and easy to navigate platforms for their cardholders to drive loyalty and increased usage. This collaboration brings two great industry leaders together for one solution.”
Elan Financial Services head of credit card issuing Peter Klukken said, “Integrating an agent card into the client financial institution banking application is truly groundbreaking. We’re excited about this relationship and look forward to offering a new, seamlessly integrated technology experience to even more banks and credit unions.”
